Sandy Blaine - Yoga Teacher, Author

Description

 

Sandy Blaine has been practicing yoga for over 20 years, and teaching and writing about yoga since 1993. She is a Berkeley Yoga Room- trained instructor, a founding member and co-director of the Alameda Yoga Station, and author of Yoga for Healthy Knees and numerous magazine articles.  She is also the long-time in-house yoga instructor for Pixar Animation Studios, which inspired and the new book Yoga For Computer Users (Rodmell Press, 2008).  Sandy believes that greater health, well-being and joy are available to everyone and strives to share the gifts of yoga with others through her work.

Sandy grew up in Berkeley, California, where she took her first yoga class in 1987. She immediately fell in love with the discipline of yoga as a means for achieving integrated well-being, and she is passionate about sharing the profound benefits of yoga practice with others through her teaching and her writing. Sandy has trained in several different styles of yoga, including Iyengar, Ashtanga Vinyasa, and Restorative; in addition to her expertise in workplace wellness and stress reduction, she specializes in helping people develop their own personalized practice for maximum effectiveness.
