I believe that yoga is for every body and any body type or ability. I work with the elderly running classes in their homes of residence, we usually practice our yoga in this way on chairs. I work with recovering cancer patients and their carers. I work with people suffering from mental health issues. I am happy to work with people of any age, ability or understanding of yoga. I just want to show people how yoga can help them in anything they do in the way that it has helped me so much over the years. I am also a qualified practitioner of Animalia Asana which visits yoga through the history and story telling of the significance of animals in yoga.
My yoga is a "not for profit" activity. I am always working hard to keep my practice and my teaching relevant to the world we live in and how it can affect our wellbeing. I am currently training with Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen on somatics of the spine. I have an interest in Ayruveda and connect my own personal practice with the seasons and my dosha.
Also as a Montessori teacher of some 25 years, I feel I am able to merge my knowledge of working and catering for individuals through my yoga giving lots of variations to make it inclusive for all levels and ages. I aim through my yoga practice and teaching to really "connect" the mind, body and spirit on as many levels as I can. I use my Montessori knowledge and qualification which is a sensorially didactic based method to complement the yoga practice. After having spinal surgery two years ago, I appreciate the value of a good strong and healthy spine and have used Scaravelli as my inspiration in my recovery. I love and enjoy the practice of a slow, strong yoga practice.
