The Breathing Room
Alicia is the founder of The Breathing Room and lovingly offers both Yoga & Pilates instruction, as well as Reiki and meditation sessions.The Breathing Room is a dream made manifest from a deep desire to serve and share with others the healing modalities, movement, mindfulness and power of the breath that were impactful in Alicia’s own life.
Alicia has a background in kinesiology and wellness before developing a passion for Pilates and Yoga. She has been teaching Pilates for over a decade and has had the opportunity to study with some of the most well-respected Pilates leaders. Alicia is comprehensively certification in various Pilates methods from Peak Pilates to BASI Pilates. She is a forever student of Pilates.
In 2018 Alicia received her 200-hr yoga teacher training through Svasta Yoga School. She then went on to study with Amy Ippoliti of Vesselify School of Yoga to complete her 500 hour training. Alicia leans toward more grounding Hatha, Restorative Yoga, Yin Yoga as well as Yoga Nidra practices but does enjoy building heat within the body through breath-linked movements.
To continue to support her holistic approach to wellness, Alicia is currently studying under Katie Silcox of Shakti Ayurveda School. Upon completion she will be a certified Ayurvedic Wellness Coach.
Whether on a piece of Pilates equipment or Yoga mat, it is Alicia's intention to guide you through mindful, breath-based movement designed to challenge you while also connecting you to your body. Using the breath as a vehicle to facilitate change and healing in the body. Connecting you to the truest and unchanging part of who you are.
The Breathing Room is a unique yoga and Pilates studio and wellness center focused on mindful, breath-based movement.
The Breathing Room offers clients a range of opportunities to work with experienced, professional instructors to regain their naturally intended harmony, connection, and balance in their bodies and minds. We are an inclusive space and welcome all levels, from the beginning student to the advanced practitioner. We value teaching modalities in their purest forms, grounded in both tradition and science.
Through our dedication to our own practices, we have found yoga and Pilates to be complementary, mindful, and breath-based practices that when practiced consistently and with attention and care, yield profound results. The two modalities are a harmonization of strength and flexibility, supporting us to live with stability and ease. They are the foundation of our practice.
