Cassandra Assis

Description

As a yoga teacher I offer a mix of Hatha Yoga, Iyengar and Vinyasa styles, and the studies in functional movement and anatomy, kinesiology and biomechanics that I have been pursuing in the last years. With focus on the proper use of the of muscles and joints in the postures in a way to release tensions that causes unbalances, and build strength and flexibility to bring health to the body and through it, balance to the mind. The constant aware of the breath is a influence of my meditation practice in the Vipassana tradition.

I offer Swedish (also known as relaxing) Massage with focus on release tensions and detoxify the tissues, aiming to create an session that leave my client with a sense of ease not just on the body, but on the mind as well.

In 2016 I developed the 4 Days Yoga Intensive, an 1:1 program which focus is to develop a personalized yoga routine that the student could take home and keep practicing alone. Credentials

I was born in Brasil, where I graduate in History with a Master Degree in Art History. After working as a History professor at the University till 2008, I decide to travel around Latin America. In the following years I put aside the academics and dedicated myself to study and practice yoga and massage. I worked in Central America, Europe, Asia and Brazil, but my main job the last 10 years have been as the Yoga Manager and Massage Therapist at El Zopilote Permaculture Farm and Hostel, in Ometepe Island, Nicaragua. My responsibilities, besides some of the yoga classes, are to organize the schedule for the other teachers, promote workshops and organize retreats. At the moment I am on a leave till may 2023.
