Description

The art of yoga is at the heart of yoga.

Our body is like a unique and exquisite instrument: exploring how we move is like learning to play music.

Engaging our curiosity whilst moving with the breath is like experimenting with melody, tone, volume and pitch. In this way our practice can become more like a meditative dance where the breath, body, mind and soul are interconnected and we become more in tune with ourselves, each other, the earth.

Through exploring our bodies in this way, we can truly know ourselves and connect with the world in a more authentic, peaceful and joyful way. The body can begin to heal itself from pain and disease that results from continued stress and strain. We can become truly in tune with ourselves.

I offer yoga and mindfulness for adults and families, alongside yoga therapy and Thai yoga massage. I run regular retreat days and weekends, mindfulness courses and workshops.

Credentials

I have been practising yoga since 2000, initially Iyengar style and then Scaravelli.  I went on to train with the Inner Yoga Trust where I completed a one year Foundation Course (2006-2007) and then a two year (500 hr) Teacher Training Course (2007-2009).  This course is accredited by the British Wheel of Yoga.

I then completed Pregnancy Yoga Training with the Inner Yoga Trust and the Yoga Therapy Course (2 years).  I have a diploma in Anatomy and Physiology which I completed as part of my Thai Yoga Massage training with Body Wisdom.

I have been teaching yoga in the community since 2009 as well as at festivals and abroad.

In 2014 I completed Mindfulness Teacher Training and am a recognised Mindfulness Teacher that abides by the UK Good Practice Guidelines.  I combine mindfulness based techniques in my yoga classes to create mindul yoga practices that are connected with the movement of the breath.
