E B Yoga Therapy
I am dedicated to helping students increase their daily happiness through practicing the "Big Yoga," better known as Ashtanga, or the 8-limbed path. As a certified Yoga therapist, I use the Integrated Movement Therapy (IMT) method, which capitalizes on the partnership between the student and teacher, to discover opportunities for healing. I believe that everyone deserves to have access to yoga, regardless of perceived barriers.
My teacher is Molly Lannon Kenny, MS-CCC, and Stephanie Sisson, LICSW, is my clinical supervisor – both with the Samarya Center of Seattle. I have also been largely influenced by the anatomy teachings of Paul Grilley, which emphasize that every body is structurally different, and we should honor those differences by adapting the pose to the body, not the other way around.
As a yoga therapist/IMT practitioner, I help students with any physical, mental, emotional and/or spiritual challenge. I have been teaching for over nine years to children and adults from around the world, specializing in working with those with chronic pain, ADD/ADHD, anxiety and depression. I now live with my family in Portland, Oregon. Through the experience of having children, I continue to learn strategies about mindfulness, patience and acceptance.
