Kristin attended her first vinyasa yoga class in 2009. Since attending Kristin has found a deep appreciation for yoga and it’s emotional, physical and spiritual benefits. Kristin has devoted over 16 years to helping children and adults, as a local mental health and alcohol and drug counselor and unaccompanied minor refugee foster care caseworker. Kristin believes that due to her regular yoga practice she is equipped to helping others. She believes that due to regular yoga practice her overall health has been enhanced. She considers herself a life-long yoga learner student, stating that yoga is a journey not a destination. Kristin attending Western Michigan University she also earned her Certified Alcohol and Drug Counseling license and earned her 200hr Heart Centered Yoga Certificate at From The Heart Yoga and Tia Chi Center in Grand Rapids, Michigan. With continued guidance and support from Behnje Masson and Rick Powell, (her teachers at From the Heart) she has gained a better understanding of the mind-body-spirit connection and the importance of incorporating all three aspects. Today Kristin enjoys sharing her knowledge and experience of yoga to both children and adults. She loves the creative aspects yoga which allows to develop themes and lesson plans for her classes.
