My name is Deb ... I am a certified hatha and restorative yoga teacher, Reiki practitioner, and humble student of life.
Yoga means yoke, join, to unite. Uniting the mind, body, and spirit into one. We often walk around feeling disconnected or 'out of sorts' but don't know why. We lug our bodies around, live in our heads worrying about things that, odds are, will never happen, we just go through the motion of daily life on auto-pilot. What if we question why we do the things we do? What if we want more contentment, happiness, peace, energy, love....? Sometimes we get so busy doing things that we forget that we need to take care of ourselves as well ... and "ourselves" includes our mind, body, and spirit. Yoga teaches us that they are all one, they are all us, united.
People turn to yoga for different reasons ... which truly is the beauty of yoga. I encourage my students to feel, really feel their bodies, noticing, allowing, accepting, empowering their inner selves, and healing, inside and out. To me, yoga has a lot to do with being flexible, not only physically but in our daily lives.
Yoga can help you calm your mind, sharpen your ability to focus, allow you to tune in to your body, and get to know and respect your own spirit. Yoga will reduce stress, help with sleepless nights, anxiety and depression, and create space ... space within your heart for more contentment, compassion for ourselves and others, feelings of gratitude, and inner peace.
We must first fill up ourselves so that we can go out and do wonderful things. I know once you feel those feelings, you will want share them with others.
I create an open, safe, and welcoming environment for students of all abilities to explore themselves through yoga. Group classes or private sessions available.
