Somatic Sense Yoga blends Somatics with Yoga and is very accessible to most people as it is centered on efficient pain free movement. By working with the neuromuscular system, Somatic Sense Yoga re-educates muscles to release tension and function in a healthier way. Somatic Sense Yoga is calming for the mind as it appreciates your natural movement patterns and encourages healthy breathing. Some postural patterns that we can get stuck in through our day-to-day habits such as using computers or driving can be changed through regular practice. Many of our organs and systems rely on movement to function effectively, couple that with the fact that there are hundreds of muscles in the body designed to contract and release, it makes sense to move. The mind plays a large part in how we are able to move and function. Somatic Sense Yoga acts as a toolbox for our own comfort and ease, to enable a life with less pain and strain and more strength, efficiency and choice.
Martine is passionate about making yoga accessible to all and about ways to integrate yoga into daily life. Martine is a strong advocate for the benefits of yoga, having improved her own health through regular practice and she has worked with others to improve their wellbeing.

Worked with The Yoga for Health and Education Trust since 2010 providing workshops for retreats on many different areas of yoga
